The Program Director, Career & Enterprise Development is a leader within the Global Learning and Leadership Development Center of Excellence (CoE). This role stewards the Career & Enterprise Development Portfolio — setting strategic direction, guiding priorities, learning objectives, and ensuring measurable business impact. Partnering with senior business leaders, HRBPs, Talent Acquisition, Diversity & Inclusion function, and Talent Management, the Program Director ensures programs are fully integrated into the talent lifecycle and aligned to enterprise strategy. In addition, this leader drives governance, budget stewardship, and innovation to scale Career & Enterprise Development.
We have a preference for this individual to work from one of our Medtronic locations; remote may be considered.
- Own and manage the Career & Enterprise Development portfolio, ensuring alignment with enterprise strategy, leadership development, business and talent priorities.
- Operate within a governance framework to strategically consult, intake requests, prioritise initiatives, and allocate resources based on strategic business & talent priorities.
- Manage governance boards and portfolio reviews, ensuring accountability, transparency, and compliance.
- Serve as a trusted advisor to Business Leaders, HRBPs, and Talent Management on Enterprise Learning.
- Define and oversee evaluation frameworks to measure adoption, promotion, retention, readiness, and business impact.
- Track and report on program outcomes, leveraging data to demonstrate measurable business value and continuous improvement.
- Own program budgets, forecast needs, and align spend with strategic and enterprise goals.
- Balance global resources and capacity across portfolios to ensure scalable delivery.
- Integrate new AI technologies, modalities, and approaches to enhance leadership development programs.
- Stay ahead of global trends in Learning & Development, Enterprise Learning and talent development, technology, including AI application, and applying insights to programs.
- Foster diversity, equity, and inclusion across all initiatives, ensuring programs are representative and globally relevant.
- Partner with external vendors, universities, and thought leaders to bring cutting-edge practices into the portfolio.
Qualifications
Must Have:
- Bachelor’s degree required.
- 7+ years of progressive experience in leadership development, Enterprise Learning development, or related field.
- Proven expertise in designing and delivering leadership or development programs for enterprise audiences.
Nice to Have:
- Master’s degree in Organizational Development, Education, Business, or related field preferred (5+ years required with advanced degree).
- Strong consulting and stakeholder management skills, with experience influencing and advising senior leaders.
- Demonstrated ability to lead and manage high-performing teams of program managers.
- Experience working with external partners, vendors, or business schools to deliver Enterprise Learning solutions.
- Strong understanding of measurement and evaluation frameworks for leadership development programs.
- Excellent facilitation, communication, and interpersonal skills; able to interact credibly with senior leaders and executives.
- Ability to balance strategic vision with hands-on program management and delivery.
- Global perspective and experience designing programs that resonate across cultures and geographies.

Salary ranges for U.S (excl. PR) locations (USD): $144,000.00 - $216,000.00. Pay range for Germany: 106,400.00 EUR - 159,600.00 EUR; Ireland: 99,600.00 EUR - 149,400.00 EUR; Netherlands: 106,480.00 EUR - 159,720.00 EUR; United Kingdom: 82,400.00 GBP - 123,600.00 GBP. This position is eligible for a short-term incentive called the Medtronic Incentive Plan (MIP). The base salary range is applicable across the United States, excluding Puerto Rico and specific locations in California. The offered rate complies with federal and local regulations and may vary based on factors such as experience, certification/education, market conditions, and location. Compensation and benefits information pertains solely to candidates hired within the United States (local market compensation and benefits will apply for others).
The following benefits and additional compensation are available to those regular employees who work 20+ hours per week: Health, Dental and vision insurance, Health Savings Account, Healthcare Flexible Spending Account, Life insurance, Long-term disability leave, Dependent daycare spending account, Tuition assistance/reimbursement, and Simple Steps (global well-being program).
