Reporting to the Mechanical Maintenance Manager, you will be working on reactive and planned maintenance in a variety of commercial and domestic situations including offices, health centres, hotels, schools, residential care homes, and student accommodation. You will need to be multi-skilled to carry out a variety of maintenance tasks such as fault finding and rectifying leaks, reporting back to the office with any material requirements, and providing a report/note for the client.

Your responsibilities will include:

  • Fault finding and replacing parts for toilets and boilers.
  • Investigating issues with heating systems and downpipes.
  • Conducting planned maintenance checks and services on various systems including boilers, hot and cold-water supplies, heating, and ventilation.

This role also supports the major projects team after project completion during the 12- or 24-month defect period, working with customer care who will schedule your visits during the week. All work is in the Midlands area, predominantly in and around Birmingham, with some visits in Nottingham and more locally to the office.

You will need to have a good customer focus as you will be going into people’s homes and offices, requiring respect, politeness, and good communication skills.

Experience/Requirements:

  • At least five years relevant construction employed industry experience either in an install or maintenance environment.
  • NVQ in Plumbing – domestic and commercial.
  • NVQ in Heating and Ventilation.
  • Gas Safe Qualified (Domestic as minimum).
  • Hold a relevant trade CSCS skills card.
  • Full UK Driver’s License.
  • Excellent customer service.
  • Ability to work independently and pro-actively, making decisions where required.
  • Positive and friendly outlook.
