Mecsia is a leading UK provider of technical inspection, maintenance, and engineering services, aiming to transform the industry with a 'Local Service, National Reach' approach. The company has grown significantly through organic expansion and strategic acquisitions, including seven business units serving large clients in different sectors including commercial offices, healthcare, and educational facilities. Under private equity ownership since 2020, Mecsia has expanded to approximately 1,500 employees, including 900 engineers.
This role will focus primarily on delivering recruitment across the Group, while also providing additional support to the wider Talent Acquisition team during peak periods of demand. This is a national role that will regularly require travel to all businesses to gain an understanding of their culture and requirements, and to support at interviews. It is a role that is integral to the divisions’ growth.
Key Responsibilities- Talent Sourcing & Attraction
- Identify, attract, and engage high‑calibre candidates using a variety of sourcing methods, including job boards, social media, referrals, and direct sourcing.
- Develop and implement innovative sourcing strategies to identify and attract high‑quality candidates.
- Represent the organisation at job fairs and recruitment events, promoting opportunities across the division’s businesses.
- Design and deliver tailored recruitment strategies for each business unit, partnering closely with Managing Directors (MDs) to align with growth plans and ensure a strong talent pipeline.
- Create and manage engaging social media recruitment campaigns to increase brand awareness and drive candidate interest across the businesses.
- Write, post, and manage job advertisements in line with company standards and best practices.
- Proactively build and maintain talent pipelines to meet current and future hiring needs.
- Develop an understanding of market trends, candidate availability, and salary benchmarking within the sector.
- Candidate Management & Delivery
- Work closely with MDs in drafting selection criteria, interview questions and scenarios around ‘what looks good’ in terms of ideal candidate.
- Screen, qualify, and shortlist candidates against defined role requirements.
- Manage candidate applications and progress through the Applicant Tracking System (ATS), ensuring accurate and up‑to‑date records.
- Coordinate interviews and maintain effective communication with candidates throughout the recruitment process.
- Participate in interviews.
- Provide timely, constructive feedback to candidates in a professional manner.
- Initiate and nurture strong candidate relationships to enhance engagement and retention.
- Stakeholder & Process Management
- Partner effectively with hiring managers and internal teams to deliver recruitment requirements.
- Support the recruitment and selection process, ensuring a positive and efficient experience for all stakeholders.
- Understand and contribute to achieving agreed KPIs and recruitment targets.
- Support referral programmes and proactively identify new talent opportunities.
- Compliance & Administration
- Timely issue of offer letters, contracts and related documentation.
- Conduct pre-employment checks and ensure compliance with company policies and relevant legislation.
- Monitor responses and ensure all applications are processed efficiently and professionally.
- Following offer acceptance, establish a structured programme of pre‑boarding touchpoints to maintain engagement, build early connections, and ensure a smooth transition into the organisation prior to the start date.
- Continuous Improvement & Team Contribution
- Contribute to team meetings and share market insights and best practices.
- Support continuous improvement of recruitment processes and service delivery.
- Ensure a consistently high standard of candidate and client experience at all times.
- On Boarding
- Partner with Managing Directors (MDs) to design and deliver tailored induction programmes, ensuring full engagement and participation from all stakeholders.
- Gather and evaluate feedback on induction effectiveness, working closely with the Head of Learning & Development (L&D) to continually enhance the onboarding experience.
- Collaborate with the Head of L&D to ensure all new starters complete mandatory training requirements in a timely manner.
- Ensure each new hire is supported through a structured probation process, with all documentation completed accurately and any issues or actions escalated appropriately.
- Off-Boarding
- Conduct exit interviews to identify key drivers of employee turnover, providing insights and recommendations to MDs and the HR Business Partner (HRBP) to address trends and areas of concern.
- Data Analysis
- Produce and analyse weekly, monthly, and quarterly recruitment metrics, identifying trends and providing data‑driven recommendations to improve hiring outcomes and reduce inefficiencies.
- Analyse search engine and recruitment channel performance, making informed recommendations to enhance candidate attraction strategies.
- Support initiatives to improve employer brand reputation, including enhancing Glassdoor ratings across the business.
- HR Support
- Provide day-to-day support to the HRBP, including administrative tasks and the preparation of HR documentation.
- Experience in recruitment, talent acquisition, or resourcing (in‑house or agency).
- Strong resourcing and candidate engagement skills.
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management abilities.
- Organised with strong attention to detail and the ability to manage multiple priorities.
- Familiarity with ATS systems and recruitment tools.
