PMO Lead - Telecoms Infrastructure/Fibre & Civils

Location: London

Working: Hybrid - 2 days office / 3 days home

Salary: Competitive, depending on experience but inside IR35, potential to perm.

We are looking for an experienced PMO Manager to lead the PMO function across a major telecoms infrastructure programme, covering fibre, cabling and civils delivery.

This is a senior PMO role where you will provide the governance, planning, reporting and project controls needed to ensure a large-scale infrastructure programme is delivered effectively, on time and within budget.

The Role

You will establish and lead the PMO, working closely with the Programme Director, Project Managers, delivery teams, contractors and senior stakeholders.

You will be responsible for providing clear visibility of programme performance, identifying risks and issues early, and ensuring robust controls are in place across the programme.

Key Responsibilities

  • ,Lead and develop the Programme Management Office (PMO)
  • ,Establish and maintain PMO governance, processes and reporting standards
  • ,Manage the Integrated Master Schedule and programme planning
  • ,Provide accurate executive-level reporting, dashboards and KPIs
  • ,Lead RAID, risk, issue and dependency management
  • ,Manage programme-level change control
  • ,Monitor programme costs, budgets, forecasts and financial performance
  • ,Track delivery, quality, safety and contractor performance
  • ,Prepare weekly and monthly programme reporting packs
  • ,Support Programme Boards and senior governance meetings
  • ,Identify delivery risks, trends and issues and drive corrective action
  • ,Work closely with Project Managers, contractors and delivery teams
  • ,Provide programme leadership with clear information to support decision making

About You

You will have extensive PMO leadership experience gained within a large-scale infrastructure environment such as:

  • ,Telecoms / Fibre
  • ,Cabling / Network Infrastructure
  • ,Civils / Construction
  • ,Utilities or Engineering
  • ,Major infrastructure programmes

You should have strong experience across programme governance, project controls, planning, risk management, reporting and commercial/financial control.

Experience of working with third-party contractors and suppliers would be highly beneficial.

You'll ideally have experience in:

  • ,PMO leadership within large infrastructure programmes
  • ,Telecoms, fibre, cabling or civils delivery
  • ,Integrated programme planning and scheduling
  • ,RAID and risk management
  • ,Change control
  • ,Programme financial management and forecasting
  • ,Executive reporting and presentations
  • ,Contractor performance management
  • ,Project controls and KPI reporting

PRINCE2, MSP, APM, PMP or equivalent qualifications would be advantageous but are not essential.

Experienced Required: -

We're looking for someone who is organised, analytical and commercially aware, with the confidence to challenge senior stakeholders and provide clear, accurate information to support programme decisions.

You will be comfortable operating in a fast-paced infrastructure environment and able to build strong relationships across technical, operational, commercial and executive teams.

This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced PMO Manager / Senior PMO professional with a background in telecoms infrastructure, fibre, cabling, civils or major infrastructure programmes.
