The role: To support in the management of the E&I maintenance department to ensure:
- highest standards of H&S are continually followed
- legislative compliance is fulfilled
- best practice maintenance techniques are utilized to provide highest possible asset availability
Health & Safety
- Follow the Site H&S procedures, practices and propose improvements
- Report any problems and issues immediately following site procedures
- Promote site H&S standards and challenge where necessary
- Lead H&S investigations
- Undertake allocated H&S actions
- Ensure awareness of current legislative and statutory requirements to maintain site compliance
- Audit site maintenance activities to ensure site safety standards are followed
Environmental
- Responsible for environmental aspects in own area.
- Follow the site environmental procedures, practices and propose improvements.
- Report any problems and issues immediately by using the site procedures
- Ensure site environmental critical equipment is maintained to relevant E&I standard
Quality
- Ensure site quality critical equipment is maintained to relevant E&I standard
- Suggest innovations to ensure customer satisfaction is guaranteed
- Audit quality of site maintenance activities
Specific Tasks: (this list is not exhaustive)
- Support Maintenance Systems Team Leader in daily operations as requested
- Co-ordinate requirements and activities between Maintenance and Operations teams
- Determine the needs of own as well as outsourced personnel and services in order to achieve maximum efficiency and availability of site installations
- Have thorough knowledge of E&I maintenance practices including Hydraulic and Pneumatic systems
- Lead and execute E&I maintenance services on site
- Monitor, Deliver and Maintain E&I standards on site
- Lead detailed studies of E&I breakdowns and repeated failures, determining corrective actions and identifying improvement opportunities using RCA techniques
- Remain updated with technology advances and processes within E&I industry
- Provide Mentorship, training and guidance to E&I technicians
- Own and Maintain the E&I training Matrix
- Provide out of hours technical support
- Represent the E&I department in site meetings and working groups as required
- Use and develop the site CMMS
- Define and approve E&I preventive maintenance plans
- Manage the departmentβs purchase requests, both for automatic replacement of spare parts and purchase of equipment or services
- Monitor priority orders
- Ensure compliance E&I equipment and installations with guarantees, placing claims with the corresponding suppliers in case of deviations
- Establish and maintain contacts with key suppliers of materials and resources
- Support the Purchase Department in negotiations with possible suppliers of services and/or equipment
- Identify and propose investment opportunities
Academic qualifications
- Time Served Apprenticeship with relevant experience
- NVQ Level 3 / HNC/HND Degree
Professional experience
- 3 years supervisory experience within E&I Maintenance Environment
