Logistics Co-ordinator required on a contract basis for a client based on Wilton International, Redcar. This is a full time position working 37.5 hours per week Monday to Friday 8am – 4pm This is an urgent requirement that requires someone that can start work immediatley. Job Responsibilities The main responsibility of the role is to ensure the on-time delivery of customer orders in the most efficient way possible. Also included in the job is responsibility for accepting and checking goods in. To ensure a smooth process you will be: * packaging a variety of different vessels containing a variety of chemicals including hazardous materials (inner and outer packaging) * preparing and printing labels * liaising with freight companies and freight forwarders * obtaining quotes and booking shipments * adhering to all shipping regulations * adhering to all H&S regulations * preparing and distributing paper work related to shipment (including DNG’s) * accepting and checking goods in * keeping accurate electronic records You will closely liaise with the Senior Operations Manager and Chemists on a day to day basis with frequent contact with the Sales and Marketing Manager and Finance Manager. You will be involved in many stages of the packaging and distribution process and play an important role in the smooth running of the business. You will be expected to work autonomously and plan you own time effectively. You will observe all written procedures relating to packing, shipping and Health and Safety. In addition you will be expected to fulfil other duties as required. The role is varied, involving work in an office, packing and laboratory environments as well as outside all year round. You will be handling a variety of vessels containing hazardous chemicals and as well as small packaging you will also need to be able to handle bulky, dangerous and heavy goods. Dangerous Goods and Shipping Knowledge – As and when required to provide information and advice on queries relating to shipping and the shipping of dangerous goods. The Technical Manager will ensure all SDS’s are up to date and accurate, adhering to the GHS/REACH Regulations. consignments as per procedures. Skills and Qualifications (once training given) Minimum 5 GCSE passes A-D, including Maths and English. Previous experience of working with chemicals is an advantage Excellent time management skills, with the confidence and ability to prioritise your tasks to meet customer deadlines. Ability to work as part of a team or using own initiative when appropriate. Excellent IT skills, Excel, Access knowledge. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills. Good organisational skills, with attention to detail and be able to follow procedures. Must be reliable, enthusiastic and flexible. Working knowledge of IATA, IMDG and ADR regulations. IATA qualification. Working knowledge of CLP, GHS and REACH regulations. Good knowledge of ISO 9001 is an advantage
