The award-winning Estates and Facilities Property Services Team is seeking an experienced Mechanical Engineer to join our professional and dedicated team. This exciting and varied role is responsible for ensuring the safe, compliant, and efficient operation of mechanical building services across our estate, supporting an excellent environment for students, staff, and visitors.
As Mechanical Engineer, you will take a leading role in the operation, maintenance, and development of mechanical services installations across University buildings. You will contribute to project design, specification development, tender documentation, contractor supervision, and ensure statutory and safety compliance for building systems, plant, and equipment. You will work collaboratively with internal colleagues, external contractors, and consultants, demonstrating strong communication, problem-solving, and relationship management skills.
We are looking for a candidate with the following:
- Degree-level education in Building Services or a related discipline, or equivalent experience.
- Member of the Chartered Institute of Building Services Engineers (CIBSE).
- Managing Safely (IOSH) certification.
- P901 Legionella – Management and Control of Building Hot and Cold Water Services certification, or equivalent experience.
- Chartered Member of the Chartered Management Institute, or requirement to commence this within 12 months.
- Strong IT competency, including Microsoft Office.
