Location: Wrexham

Hours: 40 hours per week, Monday to Friday (with alternate Saturdays)

Are you an experienced Maintenance Technician looking for your next challenge? We are seeking a multi-skilled maintenance professional to join a busy Mechanical Biological Treatment facility in Wrexham. This is an excellent opportunity to work within a well-established waste and resource management operation, supporting the efficient and safe running of critical plant equipment.

The Role

As a Maintenance Technician, you will be responsible for carrying out both planned and reactive maintenance activities across the site. Working closely with the engineering and operations teams, you will help minimise downtime, improve plant performance, and ensure all equipment operates safely and efficiently.

Key Responsibilities

  • Carry out planned preventative maintenance and reactive repairs on site equipment
  • Diagnose faults and support breakdown recovery to minimise operational disruption
  • Maintain mechanical and electrical plant equipment to a high standard
  • Assist with continuous improvement initiatives and plant optimisation projects
  • Ensure all work is completed in accordance with health, safety and environmental procedures
  • Report and investigate equipment faults, damage and incidents as required
  • Support contractor management and ensure safe systems of work are followed
  • Maintain excellent housekeeping standards across the facility
  • Work collaboratively with site teams to achieve operational objectives

The successful candidate:

  • Previous experience as a Multi-Skilled Maintenance Engineer or Maintenance Technician within an industrial environment
  • Mechanical and electrical qualifications such as City & Guilds, HNC or HND
  • Experience working with PLCs, conveyors, hydraulics, pneumatics and balers
  • Strong fault-finding and problem-solving abilities
  • Knowledge of health, safety and environmental legislation
  • Good communication and teamwork skills
  • Experience using Microsoft Office and Computerised Maintenance Management Systems (CMMS)
  • A proactive, flexible approach and willingness to work in a hands-on industrial environment
