An excellent opportunity has arisen for an experienced Electrical Project Engineer to join a major multi‑disciplinary infrastructure project based in Swansea. You'll be supporting the delivery of complex EC&I work scopes, ensuring safe, compliant, and efficient execution from design through to project handover. This role suits an engineer who takes ownership, communicates clearly, and enjoys working in a fast‑paced project environment.

The Role

  • You will be responsible for developing and managing Electrical Construction Work Packs (CWPs) that meet all technical, safety, and regulatory standards.
  • These work packs will support subcontractor coordination, installation activities, commissioning, and project closeout.
  • You will act as a key technical point within the delivery team, ensuring all project requirements are met on time and to a high standard.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop accurate, compliant EC&I CWPs for multiple design packages.
  • Prepare all supporting documentation including drawings, specifications, ITPs, RAMS, and procedures.
  • Monitor subcontractor performance and ensure work remains within budget and programme constraints.
  • Plan and coordinate EC&I installation and commissioning activities with project managers and construction teams.
  • Ensure all subcontractor resources and materials are available ahead of CWP execution.
  • Identify risks early and implement mitigation measures to avoid delays or safety issues.
  • Maintain regular communication across internal teams on scope, deliverables, and timelines.
  • Provide progress updates to the EC&I Engineering Lead.
  • Chair weekly subcontractor meetings to drive progress.
  • Ensure all handover documentation is completed to the required standards.
  • Make informed technical decisions to support the successful delivery of the project.

Experience & Qualifications

  • Minimum 5 years' experience in EC&I engineering, including at least 2 years in hazardous environments (oil & gas, petrochemical, nuclear, etc.).
  • Degree/MSc/HNC/HND in Electrical, EC&I, or relevant engineering discipline.
  • CEng or IEng (desirable but not essential).
  • Strong communication and stakeholder‑management skills.
  • Proficient in IT tools including MS Office.
  • Self‑motivated and able to meet project deadlines.
