Mech Tech Professionals have a full-time opportunity available for a Commercial Manager to work within the quarry industry for a position based in Knottingley, West Yorkshire. Our client, one of the UK's most prestigious Waste and resource management companies, requires an experienced and competent professional to start with them immediately or upon availability. Competitive Salary + benefits. This is a permanent position, working 40 hours a week (Monday to Friday).
Position Overview: The Commercial Manager will be responsible for the Health and Safety of all personnel under their authority, including contractors and visitors to the office/site. Whilst working within the office, the delivery of customer expectations in terms of service and quality is essential and activities will be in line with annual budgets.
Key responsibilities:
- To manage and develop all commercial elements of the various quarry sites for the business
- Responsible for managing, developing and motivating the sales team
- Business development tasks - generating opportunities
- Working to sales budgets to maintain business volume levels whilst adhering to and maximising product pricing policies
- Oversee efficient and accurate order processing from the initial enquiry through to delivery
- Responsible for all quotations, tenders, pricing and customer service needs - Advising potential clients on product specifications etc.
- Provide information for evaluation of performance, based on previous sales figures
- Business travelling; visiting customers at different sites/offices
- Liaise with all stakeholders on major civil engineering schemes to ensure efficient productivity
- Understand and implement SHEQ policies - set standards in regards to Health, Safety and Environmental matters
- Oversee the handling of cash payments/cheques and electronic payments
- Investigate complaints/queries, and implement solutions
Candidate requirements:
- Experience within the Quarrying/Recycling sector (Previous Managerial role essential)
- Previous Sales experience (Essential)
- Knowledge of aggregates/concrete properties (Preferred)
- Experience in inert waste acceptance and recycling operations (Desired)
- Satisfactory completion of the relevant Competency Management System modules (Essential)
- Knowledge of Highway/Civil Engineering specifications necessary (Preferred)
- IT - Knowledge of Word, Excel & Microsoft Outlook
