An established industrial supplies business serving customers across South and West Wales is seeking an experienced General Manager to lead the next phase of its growth.

Supplying PPE, tooling, fixings and industrial consumables to engineering, manufacturing and construction customers, the business has a strong reputation, loyal customer base and significant growth opportunities ahead.

Reporting directly to the owners, you will take responsibility for the day-to-day operation of two sites, leading a small team while driving improvements across operations, stock management, customer service and commercial performance.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead operations across both sites, including warehouse, stores, dispatch, customer service and administration
  • Manage pricing, quotations, margins and customer account growth
  • Oversee purchasing, supplier relationships and stock investment decisions
  • Improve stock accuracy, inventory control and operational processes
  • Lead and develop a team of office, warehouse and delivery staff
  • Support business growth through improved performance, service and efficiency
  • Report on key business metrics including sales, margin, stock and service levels

About You

  • Proven leadership experience within industrial distribution, MRO, engineering supplies, builders' merchants or a similar environment
  • Strong commercial skills covering pricing, margins, purchasing and customer management
  • Experience using ERP and stock management systems
  • Track record of improving processes and operational performance
  • Hands-on leadership style with excellent people management skills
  • Full UK driving licence
