We are seeking an experienced Senior Quantity Surveyor with a strong M&E / MEP background to join a leading renewable energy contractor delivering a major, 4-year decarbonisation programme at Gatwick Airport. This role will be central to cost planning and commercial management of multiple MEP upgrade projects – including energy-efficient lighting and building services improvements – aimed at reducing carbon emissions across the airport estate. You’ll take ownership of cost forecasting, procurement, and subcontractor management, supporting a series of sustainable construction & upgrade projects from early design through to completion. Aviation or NEC contract experience would be an advantage, but not essential.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead cost planning, budgeting and forecasting for MEP and building services projects.
- Develop detailed cost models and value engineering options to ensure best value delivery.
- Manage multiple work packages and subcontractor relationships simultaneously.
- Support project teams in financial control, risk management and commercial reporting.
- Prepare and issue procurement enquiries, assess quotations and negotiate commercial terms.
- Prepare and submit applications for payment, variations, and compensation events.
- Produce monthly cost value reconciliations, spend profiles and cash flow forecasts.
- Review contract documents to ensure compliance and manage commercial risk registers.
- Measure, certify and agree subcontractor interim valuations and final accounts.
About You
- Experienced Senior Quantity Surveyor with proven track record in M&E, MEP or building services.
- Comfortable managing multiple construction packages concurrently.
- Aviation or NEC contract experience desirable.
- Excellent commercial awareness and communication skills.
- Degree-qualified in Quantity Surveying or related discipline.
