An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced Mechanical Design Engineer to join a specialist engineering business operating within the data centre and critical infrastructure sector.
Working on technically challenging projects, you will be responsible for developing mechanical designs from concept through to detailed design, construction and commissioning.
Key Responsibilities
- Design mechanical systems for data centres and critical infrastructure projects.
- Develop cooling, chilled water, ventilation and mechanical services designs.
- Produce drawings, schematics, specifications and technical documentation.
- Undertake engineering calculations and design assessments.
- Work closely with electrical engineers and wider project teams to deliver coordinated MEP solutions.
- Liaise with clients, consultants, contractors and suppliers.
- Provide technical support during construction, testing and commissioning.
- Attend site visits, surveys and design meetings as required.
About You
- HNC/HND or Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Building Services or a related discipline.
- Previous mechanical design experience within building services, M&E, industrial or critical environments.
- Strong understanding of mechanical building services and cooling systems.
- Experience with AutoCAD and/or Revit.
- Experience within data centres or other mission-critical environments would be advantageous.
- Strong communication and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team.
- Full UK driving licence and willingness to travel to project sites.
