Mech Electrics are working on behalf of a key client within the critical infrastructure and data centre sector to recruit an electrically biased Project Manager to support a mechanically biased Operations Manager across a portfolio of live and upcoming projects. This is a long-term opportunity to join a technically driven business delivering high-specification projects across Manchester, the Wirral, Yorkshire and the Midlands.
The Electrical Project Manager will take responsibility for overseeing the successful delivery of multiple electrical building services packages across a number of technically complex projects, primarily within data centre and critical infrastructure environments. The role will involve managing projects remotely alongside regular site visits, supporting Site Managers on each project and maintaining close communication with clients and key stakeholders throughout delivery. This position offers a high level of autonomy and would suit someone comfortable organising their own diary and travel arrangements.
Key Responsibilities
- Managing multiple projects across the North West, Midlands and Yorkshire regions
- Supporting and coordinating Electrical Site Managers on each project
- Managing client relationships and acting as a key point of contact throughout delivery
- Coordinating subcontractors, labour resources and project teams
- Monitoring project progress, programme delivery and quality standards
- Attending client, design, progress and coordination meetings
- Reviewing drawings and identifying potential design or commercial issues
- Supporting procurement, subcontractor coordination and material management
- Managing project reporting, RAMS, health & safety and compliance requirements
- Coordinating commissioning activities and project handovers
- Working closely with the mechanically biased Operations Manager to ensure successful overall project delivery

Requirements
- Proven experience as an Electrical Project Manager within M&E or Building Services
- Experience managing multiple projects and site teams simultaneously
- Strong client-facing and subcontractor management skills
- Previous experience within data centres, commercial infrastructure or technically complex projects preferred
- Strong understanding of programme management, QA and commissioning processes
- Ability to work independently and manage regional travel effectively
- SMSTS, CSCS and relevant electrical qualifications preferred
