An exciting opportunity is available for an experienced Electrical Design Engineer to join a specialist engineering business delivering building services projects across the data centre and critical infrastructure sector. You will work on complex electrical systems where reliability, resilience and performance are critical, supporting projects from initial design through to construction and commissioning.

Key Responsibilities

  • Produce electrical designs for data centre and critical infrastructure projects.
  • Design LV distribution and critical power systems.
  • Develop solutions incorporating UPS, generators and resilient power infrastructure.
  • Produce schematics, single-line diagrams, layouts and technical documentation.
  • Undertake electrical calculations and design assessments.
  • Work closely with mechanical engineers and project teams to deliver coordinated MEP solutions.
  • Liaise with clients, consultants, contractors and suppliers.
  • Provide technical support during installation, testing and commissioning.
  • Attend site visits, surveys and design meetings as required.

About You

  • HNC/HND or Degree in Electrical Engineering, Building Services or a related discipline.
  • Previous electrical design experience within building services, M&E, industrial or critical environments.
  • Strong understanding of LV electrical systems and distribution.
  • Experience with AutoCAD and/or Revit.
  • Knowledge of UPS, generators and critical power systems would be advantageous.
  • Experience with Amtech or equivalent electrical calculation software would be beneficial.
  • Data centre or mission-critical experience is desirable but not essential.
  • Strong communication, analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team.
  • Full UK driving licence and willingness to travel to project sites.
