An opportunity for an experienced Health & Safety Advisor to support multi-site construction and engineering projects across the London region, with a strong focus on Mechanical & Electrical (M&E) works within low-carbon and energy infrastructure developments.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide proactive H&S support across multiple construction sites, with particular focus on M&E activities e.g. re-fit projects, decarbonisation works, solar installations, plant room strip-outs etc., ensuring compliance with CDM 2015 and relevant legislation.
  • Review and assess RAMS, ensuring risks associated with mechanical and electrical installations are identified and effectively controlled.
  • Conduct regular site inspections and audits, reporting on compliance and improvement areas.
  • Advise project teams on high-risk activities including M&E installations, excavation, working at height, lifting operations, and confined spaces.
  • Support incident investigations, identifying root causes and implementing corrective actions.
  • Promote a positive safety culture through training, toolbox talks, and workforce engagement.
  • Monitor H&S performance and contribute to audits aligned with ISO 9001, 14001, and 45001.
  • Assist with safety documentation, inductions, and project handover requirements.

Requirements

  • NEBOSH Certificate in Occupational Health & Safety (Diploma desirable).
  • Experience in construction with a strong emphasis on M&E or building services environments (2-5 years preferred).
  • Solid understanding of risks associated with mechanical and electrical works.
  • Strong knowledge of H&S legislation and risk management practices.
  • Ability to engage and influence teams to drive safe working practices.
  • Internal auditor qualification and professional membership desirable.
