About Mech Electrics

We’re supporting a key client on several major projects and are now seeking a BMS Engineer to strengthen their delivery team during an important phase of project development.
The Role
Working alongside the BMS Manager and wider M&E team, you’ll play a hands-on role in the design development, coordination, commissioning, and optimisation of Building Management Systems. You’ll help ensure that complex control systems are technically robust, well-integrated, and perform efficiently within the overall building services strategy.
Key Responsibilities
- Support the delivery of Stage 4 BMS design and assist in developing detailed control strategies.
- Work with commissioning and operations teams to validate, test, and fine-tune system performance.
- Liaise with system integrators and control vendors to resolve technical queries.
- Review and update BMS drawings, schematics, and documentation to reflect as-built conditions.
- Carry out fault finding, optimisation, and commissioning support on site.
- Assist in maintaining the BMS RACI matrix and tracking deliverable ownership.
- Collaborate closely with mechanical and electrical teams to ensure full integration of BMS elements.
Skills & Experience Required
- Solid understanding of BMS controls, HVAC systems, and building automation principles.
- Practical experience with major BMS platforms such as Honeywell, Trend, Schneider, Tridium, or Siemens.
- Experience in commissioning, system configuration, or field engineering.
- Good appreciation of M&E coordination and the role of BMS in energy performance.
- ONC/HNC or equivalent qualification in Electrical, Mechanical, or Building Services Engineering.
- Strong attention to detail and proactive problem-solving mindset.
