In order to make an application, simply read through the following job description and make sure to attach relevant documents.
This role is based at Gatwick Airport on a long-term programme of works that will run well into the next decade. It’s site-based, hands-on, and gives you day-to-day access to how commercial decisions actually get made on live construction projects.
You’ll be working directly with a Senior Quantity Surveyor who will involve you in the work, not shield you from it.
What you’ll actually be doing
You’ll be helping to keep projects commercially on track. That means:
- supporting cost control and reporting
- getting involved in valuations and variations
- learning how subcontractor packages are managed
- understanding how site progress links to money
- seeing how commercial decisions play out in real time
This isn’t a theory-heavy, office-only graduate role. You’ll be on site, talking to people, learning how things really work.
Who this suits
This would suit someone who:
- has a degree (or is close to completing one) in Quantity Surveying or a related subject
- has had some exposure to construction, even if it’s through placements or short-term roles
- wants to build a long-term career, not just tick a graduate-scheme box
- is curious, asks questions, and wants responsibility over time
If you’re looking for somewhere you can settle, learn properly and progress, this should be of interest.
The environment
The work is in live buildings on an active airport campus. It’s busy, regulated and sometimes demanding — but you’ll be supported by an experienced, committed team who know the site well.
If you want to become a confident, commercially capable QS rather than just another CV, this is worth a conversation.
