We are looking for a reliable, practical and proactive Premises Assistant to support our Premises Manager in maintaining the school's buildings and grounds to a high standard. This is a varied, hands-on role ideal for someone who enjoys problem-solving, working outdoors and being part of a supportive team. You will also act as a key holder and support emergency response when required.
Responsibilities
- Support the day-to-day maintenance, cleanliness and security of the school site
- Carry out basic repairs and maintenance across buildings, grounds and play areas
- Assist with health & safety checks, compliance records and risk management
- Maintain outdoor areas including gardening, litter clearance and seasonal duties
- Support swimming pool maintenance, including cleaning and water testing
- Help prepare the site for school events, external lettings and special occasions
- Assist with deliveries, site set-up and occasional catering support
- Work closely with the Premises Manager and wider school team to ensure a safe, welcoming environment
Qualifications
- Has experience in premises, site or building maintenance
- Is practical, hands-on and able to carry out a range of maintenance tasks
- Has a good understanding of health & safety practices
- Is reliable, flexible and able to work independently and as part of a team
- Is physically fit and comfortable working indoors and outdoors
- Has good communication and basic IT skills (emails, Teams, record-keeping)
