Overview

We have an exciting opportunity to recruit a part-time Clinical Practice Educator. We are seeking a registered professional who will consider the training needs of the staff that work within The Meath Epilepsy Charity, providing training, assessments and assurance around designated healthcare tasks

Key Responsibilities Include:

• Support ‘On service’ training to ensure all that require the designated healthcare tasks are trained to the required level.
• Consider how staff can be upskilled to recognise and respond to changes in health, e.g. Tissue Viability and appropriate escalation pathways.
• You will be confident in producing and delivering training.
• You will be confident in signing off competencies, with consideration for professional registration.
• To following up/providing support to staff after being signed off on competency.
• You will be able to provide detail and depth to the role where you would have worked in roles that require the skills needed to provide clinical and structural input.
• To provide more assurance in accountability, skill and knowledge attached to registration.

Essential Qualities:

• Basic understanding of
• Epilepsy/administration of rescue medication
• o Undertaking Physical Observations/ Vital signs
• o Diabetes management
• o PEG care
• o Stoma care
• o Catheter care
• o ACE care
• o Suppository administration
• Clear understanding of Code of Practice and how this links with designated healthcare tasks

Essential:

• Experience of working with people with epilepsy or learning disabilities
• Ability to put individuals at the centre of care delivery.
• Excellent interpersonal skills.
• Organisational skills to ensure the right people are trained to the right DHT
• Strong IT skills to track completion of designated healthcare tasks
• Flexibility to work with different services
• Innovative thinking to refine and adapt process to meet the needs of services.
• Demonstrate high levels of resilience.
• Commitment and tenacity to get things done and make a difference.
