Kepak is one of Europe’s leading food producers. We are recruiting for experienced Butchers and Slaughter Operatives for our 3 UK sites: Scotland (Aberdeen), England (Bodmin) and Wales (Merthyr).
As a skilled Butcher/Slaughter Operative, your role will be essential in ensuring that our meat products are prepared to the highest standards of quality and safety.

Our 15 manufacturing plants across Ireland and the UK are dedicated to producing innovative and nutritionally valuable food products, all while remaining grounded in our communities and the natural world.
Responsibilities:
- Use knives and other equipment to prepare and process meat products according to production specifications.
- Ensure that meat products are cut and trimmed to the highest standards of quality and safety.
- Keep work area clean and follow all safety regulations and procedures.
- Meet production goals and work as a team to ensure timely completion of tasks.
- Production levels: up to 2000 cattle per week (depending on site).
- Species: Beef and Lamb.
- Properly store and handle meat products to prevent waste and spoilage.
- Continuously learn and improve knowledge of knife skills and meat processing techniques.
Requirements
- Candidate must arrange own TB vaccination status, English Language Test (B1 UKVI standard), and complete visa application process (cost approx. ZAR18, 000.00).
- Previous knife skills and butchery/slaughter experience in fast-paced food manufacturing is required.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and meet production goals.
- Attention to detail and ability to follow strict production specifications and safety procedures.
- Physical ability to stand for long periods of time and lift and move heavy items whilst working in a chilled environment.
- Flexibility to meet daily production targets.
- Adaptable to change and production demands.
- 3-year Sponsorship Visa.
- Guidance with visa application process.
- Immigration Health Surcharge Paid.
- First month temporary accommodation arranged and paid.
- Support with arranging one-way flight to UK (if required).
- Free meet and greet on arrival in UK and transfer to temporary accommodation/site.
- Free support on arrival with setup of UK Bank Account, doctors, National Insurance Number, etc.
- Support arranging your own transport to/from production sites.
- Monday to Friday production, core hours of 40-45 per week (depending on site).
- Enhanced overtime rates.
- 28 days per year paid annual leave, increasing to 31 days after 6 months continuous service.
