Underwood Meat Company is looking to recruit a number of Production Operatives in its fast‑paced meat production facility.
Hours of Work: Monday to Sunday 06:00 to 14:30 (5 out of 6 days; Sunday on a rota basis, Saturday not a working day).
Job Location: Within the factory at our Holmewood, Chesterfield site; positions also available at other locations.
Responsibilities:
- Prepare meat products efficiently to customer and company requirements.
- Package complete orders to customer specifications.
- Ensure compliance with metal detection procedures.
- Maintain stock rotation in finished goods areas.
- Keep work area clean and tidy at all times, disposing of waste appropriately.
- Follow company hygiene rules, keeping highest standard of personal hygiene, using hygiene stations and ensuring work clothing and equipment remain hygienic.
- Perform plant cleaning duties and use chemicals and safety equipment safely (training provided).
- Make basic decisions related to product standard; consult supervisor if uncertain.
- Raise any concerns about unreasonable job aspects to supervisor or manager before signing the job description.
- Immediately report tasks considered outside job description to supervisor or manager.
Qualifications: No formal qualifications required. On‑the‑job training will be provided for all required tasks.
