Mears Group is delivering a long-term social housing repairs and maintenance partnership across the wider Midlands region. Providing housing repairs and maintenance services across a geographically diverse social housing portfolio covering market towns, rural communities and urban locations, the contract includes responsive repairs, planned maintenance and property services, with a strong focus on customer service, quality and community investment. Due to continued growth across the contract, opportunities are available for experienced Multi Skilled Operatives across South Worcestershire, North Gloucestershire, and surrounding areas.

About the Role:

We are looking for multi skilled operatives to join our team in Evesham. You will be carrying out a variety of property maintenance tasks, including painting, plastering, brickwork, carpentry, tiling, silicone/mastic works, groundworks and minor plumbing in void properties. The role requires delivering high-quality repairs, refurbishments and installations to bring domestic properties up to lettable standard. With a strong pipeline of work and a commitment to improving social housing standards, this is a fantastic opportunity to be part of a team that's making a real difference in the community. We're looking for people who are reliable, skilled across multiple trades, and passionate about getting the job done right the first time.

Duties:

  • Carry out day-to-day repairs and refurbishment works across void social housing properties
  • Replacing or repairing skirting boards, architraves, and internal door frames
  • Installing and adjusting kitchen units, worktops, and cupboard doors
  • Repairing or replacing internal doors, handles, locks, and hinges
  • Identifying and fixing minor plumbing issues such as leaks, dripping taps, and blocked sinks
  • Carrying out patch plastering and making good damaged walls or ceilings
  • Completing wall and floor tiling repairs, including grouting and sealing
  • Painting and decorating to a professional finish following repair and refurbishment works
  • Ensuring all repairs are completed safely, efficiently, and to a high standard
  • Preparing empty properties to meet lettable standards and project timescales
  • Participating in out-of-hours emergency repair rota as required
  • Reporting any further works or property issues beyond scope
  • Maintain excellent working relationships with colleagues, supervisors and client representatives
  • Accurately record job details, materials used, and completion notes using handheld devices or job sheets
  • Maintain tools, equipment, and company vehicle in good working order
  • Manage daily workload efficiently to meet service level targets

Key Criteria:

  • Proven experience in domestic repairs and maintenance across multiple trades (e.g. carpentry, plumbing, plastering, tiling, decorating)
  • Full UK driving licence
  • Ability to work independently and manage workload effectively
  • Strong fault-finding and problem-solving skills
  • Experience working on void properties
  • Good understanding of health and safety regulations and safe working practices
  • Ability to use handheld devices or job management systems to record work
