Contract: Full time, Permanent, 40 hours per week, Monday to Friday, 8.30am - 5pm
Salary : Β£42,020.69 plus Car Allowance
About the Role:
Mears Housing Management are seeking a Area Manager to support the delivery of a new service designed to enable a vulnerable client group, avoid homelessness and move into settled accommodation. Pastoral, floating support to assist the management and sustainment of the residency and manage the accommodation forms part of the service provision. The key requirement of this service is to ensure that no one leaves prison without the offer of a place to live from their first night in the community and to support a pathway to settled accommodation. This is a hybrid position, mainly home working with expectation to go out on patch to meet the team and attend offices for meetings etc.
Role Requirements:
- Responsible for the day to day management of the Resident Welfare Officer Team ensuring a comprehensive person-centred service which includes out of hours provision
- Ensure accommodation provided is procured and maintained to required standards
- Lead, manage, motivate and support staff to deliver contractual requirements.
- Create positive, continuous improvement culture within the business, embedding and manging through the principals of ownership & accountability and reward and recognition.
- Delivery of service to ensure safeguarding and welfare are fully considered and embedded in processes.
- Delivery of contractual compliance and successful outcomes of all Key Performance Indicators, internal and commercial targets.
- Management of risks through effective planning and service delivery; escalating to senior management for action in a timely manner.
- Management and development of relationships with internal colleagues, third parties and external organisations to support service delivery and property procurement.
- Overall responsibility for the delivery of a customer focused service to our service users ensuring a tailored approach to meet individual needs whilst being culturally aware and sensitive of circumstances Work collaboratively and proactively with centralised and local teams to ensure delivery of and seamless and excellent service.
- Delivery of performance and service reporting as requested by line manager, escalating all risks and concerns to ensure full resolution Ensure all records and IT data on systems remains updated with accurate information to meet contractual requirements.
- Undertake adhoc projects and provide support and cover for colleagues and teams within Mears Housing Management
- Ensure full compliance with Mears code of conduct, contractual terms and group policies & procedures
Key Criteria:
- Previous line manager experience
- A flexible working approach and the ability to work to tight deadlines.
- Ability to communicate effectively with colleagues and clients- Excellent written and spoken communicator
- Ability to work well under own initiative.
- Ability to understand differing cultures
- Evidence of working collaboratively and adopting a partnership approach
- Demonstrable experience of working in a similar based role
- Full UK Driving License
