The predicted salary is between 36000 - 60000 Β£ per year.

We are seeking a motivated and organised Housing Officer to join our Housing Management team. You will be responsible for overseeing a range of temporary accommodation, carrying out property inspections, identifying and reporting repairs, assisting with tenancy issues, managing sign-ups and check-outs, and administration tasks.

Duties:

  • Carry out regular property visits and liaise with tenants, landlords, and local authorities, ensuring all contractual obligations are met.
  • Conduct viewings and sign-up tenants, ensuring they understand tenancy terms and conditions, supporting housing benefit applications, and demonstrating property equipment.
  • Manage tenancy check-outs, compiling specifications of works required to re-let, and ensuring properties meet contractual and legal standards.
  • Work with the Income Collection team to maximise rental income, signposting tenants to welfare and benefits services, and issuing warnings or notices for non-payment.
  • Identify and report necessary property repairs, making informed decisions to maintain standards.
  • Manage tenancy breaches (e.g. noise nuisance, anti-social behaviour), including evidence gathering, reporting, serving statutory notices, and attending court where required.
  • Attend evictions and provide supporting evidence when necessary.
  • Identify tenants needing additional support and liaise with support providers and statutory agencies to help them sustain their tenancies.
  • Collect data from property visits and maintain accurate records on internal IT systems.

Role Criteria:

  • Experience in the above duties.
  • Understanding of basic property faults and remedies.
  • Ability to write and present clear reports.
  • Knowledge of the Housing Health & Safety Rating System.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Full UK driving licence.

Desirable:

  • Experience in housing management and/or temporary accommodation.
