We are looking for an experienced plasterer to join our team in Eastbourne. The role involves working with Lewes and Eastbourne Councils on a variety of residential projects, including occupied, void properties, and communal areas. Our team produces work to the highest standards and delivers outstanding customer service.

The responsibilities include all aspects of plaster repairs, from minor patch repairs to entire room replastering. Tasks include removal, patching, boarding, over-boarding, thermal boarding, and plastering. External works such as sand and cement renders are also part of the role.

Customer experience is central to all activities. The candidate must adopt a professional manner when communicating with service users, clients, and stakeholders. This includes maintaining appearance standards, displaying company ID, ensuring vehicle conditions are up to standard, and adhering to high Health & Safety standards. Feedback from customers on completed works may be required.

All activities should be processed electronically using a handheld device (PDA). This includes managing worksheets, timesheets, photographic evidence, van stock, booking leave, vehicle inspections, safeguarding, risk assessments, and method statements.

Role Criteria:

  • Ability to complete a clean job
  • Good knowledge of plastering backgrounds, including damp issues
  • Experience with hacking off, bonding, multi-finish plastering, dot and dab, ceilings, working safely around textured surfaces, and damp proofing
  • UK full driving licence
  • Own hand tools

All roles require candidates to have the entitlement to work in the UK. Mears does not offer visa sponsorship. To drive a Mears vehicle, candidates must be over 21, have held their licence for over 3 months, and have fewer than 9 points.

All roles are subject to DBS/Security checks before employment begins.
