Contract: Full time – Permanent – 42.5 Hours per week
Mears provides temporary accommodation to asylum seekers whilst their claim is being assessed in three regions: Northeast, Yorkshire and Humber, Northern Ireland, and Scotland. Mears works in partnership with central and local Government, registered providers, tenants, landlords and investors to find solutions to homelessness, provide more social and affordable housing and create specialist housing for people with care needs.
The Quality Assurance Officer will be responsible for carrying out property inspections across tenanted properties, ensuring homes are maintained to the required standards. Duties include:
- Identifying damage, defects, and areas requiring repair
- Accurately recording findings
- Taking clear photographic evidence during each visit
All inspections must be fully documented and reported using a PDA system, with attention to detail and accuracy. The role requires effective communication with relevant teams to ensure issues are logged and followed up in line with procedures.
Role Criteria:
- Experience in the above duties
- Experience completing property inspections
- Experience of working in social housing and in partnership with a local authority client
- Excellent communication skills
- Experience of working under pressure, meeting tight deadlines
- Full UK driving license
