How to prepare for a job interview at Mears Group

✨Know Your Roofing Basics

Before heading into the interview, brush up on your roofing knowledge. Be ready to discuss different types of roofing materials, repair techniques, and safety regulations. This shows you’re not just a hands-on worker but also understand the theory behind the job.

✨Showcase Your Experience

Prepare specific examples from your past work that highlight your skills in roofing repairs, emergency call-outs, or working with reclaimed materials. Use the STAR method (Situation, Task, Action, Result) to structure your answers and make them impactful.

✨Communicate Clearly

Since you'll be liaising with tenants and site supervisors, practice clear and concise communication. Think about how you would explain complex roofing issues to someone without technical knowledge. This will demonstrate your ability to minimise disruption and maintain good relationships.

✨Ask Insightful Questions

At the end of the interview, have a few questions ready about the company’s approach to community impact or their maintenance programmes. This shows your genuine interest in the role and helps you assess if the company aligns with your values.
