We are now seeking an Electrician to carry out void electrical works in the Norwich area. You'll join us in supporting our ongoing partnership with Orbit; now in its thirteenth year providing a stable and profitable contract, delivering excellent service and support through our local teams, who understand the importance of working together for the local community.

Who are we: MPS has been caring for residents’ homes for over 25 years. As part of the Mears Group, we offer partnership solutions and expertise in estate management and property maintenance. Delivering a range of property services, including reactive repairs, planned and cyclical maintenance services to over 100 local authorities and housing providers nationwide including, Orbit: one of the largest housing providers in the midlands, east Anglia and the southeast.

About the Role: We are seeking a skilled and reliable Electrician to join our team, with a key focus on working in void properties. In this role, you will be responsible for carrying out Electrical Installation Condition Reports (EICRs), as well as addressing any necessary C1 and C2 issues. You will also be involved in comprehensive inspection and testing of electrical systems to ensure compliance with safety standards.

Your day-to-day tasks will include wiring new kitchen circuits as part of kitchen upgrade works, as well as the installation and replacement of extraction fans. A key element of this role involves detailed testing and inspection (EICR) to identify potential electrical faults or hazards and take appropriate action to resolve them. You must be flexible and prepared to support responsive repair works when required, in addition to your core void responsibilities. Participation in the emergency call-out rota is mandatory and forms an important part of the role, helping us maintain a responsive and reliable service for our customers.

The ideal candidate will have a strong background in electrical inspection, testing, and fault diagnosis, with the ability to work efficiently and independently. A high standard of work and attention to detail is essential to ensure all installations and upgrades meet safety and regulatory standards.

Role Criteria:

  • Inspection and Testing 2391/2 or equivalent is essential
  • A NVQ Level 3 Electrical Installation Qualification
  • City and Guilds 18th Edition (Willing to take on 17th Edition electrician if candidate is willing to go through training for 18th)
  • AM2 Qualification
  • Full UK Driving Licence
  • Be a great team player as well as have the ability to work under your own initiative.
  • Ideally hold City & Guilds Electrical Equipment Maintenance and Testing qualification 2377
