We are the largest provider of repairs and maintenance, and regeneration services across the UK. Mears provide tailored Emergency and Urgent response to day to day repairs as well as routine planned repairs under our repairs & maintenance services through partnering arrangements with more than 70 local authorities, Arm’s Length Management Organisations and Housing Associations.
About the Role
A Multi Skilled Operative based within our Thurrock branch provides day to day repairs support to our residents. The successful candidate will become part of a local team undertaking a high standard Multi Trade repairs and refurbishment activities to housing properties delivering best in class customer service and satisfying all safety, quality, and cost control standards.
You are required to have a certified core trade and, complementing this, can deliver additional trade activities in support of completing repair/refurbishment works on time and to a high standard in accordance with agreed standard operating procedures. You will be expected to take ownership in undertaking construction, fault finding and maintenance repairs aiming for a first‑time completion whilst remaining within budget and time parameters.
Role Criteria
- Core trade in Plumbing or Carpentry
- NVQ in Plumbing or Carpentry
- Experience in Plastering, floor laying, tiling, painting & Decorating, ground works
- Experience in Building Maintenance
- Social housing experience (5 years +)
- UK Full driving license
- Customer Focused
- Ability to work in a fast‑paced environment
