About the Role

As Gas Manager, you will be responsible for the management of operational and commercial delivery, contractual performance and gas compliance activities across the contract.

  • Oversee operational and commercial delivery, contractual performance, and client compliance.
  • Ensure delivery meets contractual commitments, budgets, cash flow requirements, and client protocols.
  • Manage gas compliance programmes and servicing activities within agreed timescales.
  • Maintain compliance with health & safety legislation, company procedures, quality standards, and best practice.
  • Lead and manage direct labour teams and supply chain partners.
  • Drive productivity improvements, efficiency savings, and innovative solutions with Procurement.
  • Promote a positive, customer-focused culture across all operations.
  • Deliver contractual KPIs, customer satisfaction targets, and timely company/client reporting.
  • Manage employee performance, coaching, development, and succession planning.
  • Safeguard company assets in line with company policies.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with clients, service users, and local communities.
  • Manage client expectations and represent the business at meetings.
  • Support business development initiatives and bid preparation activities.
  • Participate in a 1-in-4-week on-call rota.

Key Criteria

  • Domestic Gas qualifications including CCN1, CENWAT, CKR1 and HTR1
  • Proven track record of gas repairs, programmed servicing, repairs and installations management and delivery
  • Proven commercial and performance management experience
  • Ability to manage multiple sites and contracts
  • Proven experience working within a customer-focused environment
  • Contract and project management experience
  • Experience motivating and inspiring a diverse workforce
  • Strong governance, risk management and business control experience
  • Full UK driving licence

Desirable

  • Plumbing Apprenticeship
  • NVQ Level 2
  • Domestic Plumbing or equivalent
  • ILM accreditation or Level 4 Leadership and Management qualification
  • IOSH or other health and safety qualification
  • Experience working within social housing
  • Experience working in partnership with local authority clients
