We are looking for an experienced Business Intelligence Team Leader to lead and develop a high performing BI team, delivering high quality reporting, dashboards and analytics that support business decision making across Mears. This is a remote first role, offering flexibility while working closely with stakeholders across the organisation.
In this role you will provide technical and people leadership to BI developers and analysts, overseeing the end to end delivery of BI solutions. You will work collaboratively with stakeholders to understand requirements, prioritise workloads and ensure BI outputs are delivered to agreed standards, timescales and security requirements.

About the Role:
- Lead and mentor a team of BI developers and analysts, supporting performance, development and engagement
- Collaborate with stakeholders to gather requirements and translate business needs into effective BI solutions
- Oversee the development, testing and deployment of reports, dashboards and analytics
- Design and maintain data models, dimensional models and schemas to support reporting and analysis
- Ensure BI solutions follow best practice for performance, scalability, security and reliability
- Monitor delivery progress, manage risks and ensure successful project outcomes
- Optimise BI performance through effective data modelling and query optimisation
- Maintain documentation and reporting standards and provide training and support to business users
Key Criteria:
- Proven experience in a BI leadership or senior BI developer role
- Strong people management and line management experience within a remote IT environment
- Extensive experience with Power BI and Microsoft data platforms
- Strong SQL skills with experience in database design and data modelling
- Experience working with hybrid architectures and cloud based platforms such as Azure and Microsoft Fabric
- Demonstrated ability to lead complex projects and manage changing priorities
- Excellent communication, problem solving and stakeholder management skills
- Experience of remote team leadership and delivery
