Mears Group is delivering a long-term social housing repairs and maintenance partnership across the wider Midlands region, providing housing repairs and maintenance services across a geographically diverse social housing portfolio covering market towns, rural communities and urban locations. The contract includes responsive repairs, planned maintenance and property services, with a strong focus on customer service, quality and community investment.
Due to continued growth across the contract, opportunities are available for experienced Electrical Managers across South Worcestershire, North Gloucestershire, and surrounding areas.
About the Role:
- You will be responsible for managing all aspects of electrical service delivery across housing client properties, ensuring compliance with legislation, contractual obligations and Mears operating standards.
- Management of operational and commercial delivery in line with contractual commitments, budgets and cash flow.
- Ensure full compliance with electrical safety, health and safety legislation, company procedures and industry best practice.
- Manage direct labour and supply chain resources to improve productivity and deliver cost efficiencies.
- Oversee programmed servicing programmes, ensuring checks are completed within agreed client timescales.
- Ensure suitable evidence is collected and maintained to demonstrate electrical compliance.
- Promote a strong customer focused culture aligned to the Mears Red Thread.
- Ensure completion of company and client reporting requirements and achievement of KPI targets.
- Manage, coach and develop employees to drive performance and capability.
- Protect company assets and ensure HR policies and procedures are followed.
- Build strong relationships with clients, service users and local communities.
- Support business development activities and assist with bid preparation where required.
Key Criteria:
- Qualified to at least 17th Edition with desire to achieve 18th Edition.
- Fully conversant with EICR testing requirements.
- Proven experience managing electrical repairs, servicing, minor works and installations.
- Strong commercial and performance management experience.
- Ability to manage multiple sites and contracts.
- Experience leading, motivating and developing a diverse workforce.
- Strong knowledge of health and safety regulations including COSHH.
- Excellent communication, organisational and decision-making skills.
- Strong customer focus with a results driven approach.
- IT literate with confident written and verbal communication skills.
- Full UK driving licence.
- Experience in social housing and working with local authority clients desirable.
- ILM or leadership qualifications and IOSH or health and safety qualifications desirable.
- Knowledge of renewable or alternative technologies desirable.
