We are now seeking five Electricians due to a contract expansion, to join us in supporting our ongoing partnership with Orbit; now in its twelfth year providing a stable and profitable contract, delivering excellent service and support through our local teams, who understand the importance of working together for the local community.

Who are we: MPS has been caring for residents’ homes for over 25 years. As part of the Mears Group, we offer partnership solutions and expertise in estate management and property maintenance. Delivering a range of property services, including reactive repairs, planned and cyclical maintenance services to over 100 local authorities and housing providers nationwide including Orbit: one of the largest housing providers in the midlands, east Anglia and the southeast.

About the Role: As an Electrician with MPS you will be out supporting fellow trades in our domestic properties. Holding a full UK driving license is essential for this role. You will be assigned to a set of locations within Area 2 with our business and jobs will be grouped for the day in and around one area to limit extensive travel. You'll assist with all things electrical; experience working within domestic and social housing previously would be ideal. This includes installing, servicing, repairing and maintaining electrical systems and appliances, in accordance with the current IET wiring regulations and completing electrical certificates and electrical condition reports.

Role Criteria:

  • A NVQ Level 3 Electrical Installation Qualification
  • City and Guilds 18th Edition (Willing to take on 17th Edition electrician if candidate is willing to go through training for 18th T&C & C’S apply)
  • Inspection and Testing 2391/2 or equivalent
  • AM2 Qualification
  • Full UK Driving Licence
  • Be a great team player as well as have the ability to work under your own initiative.
  • Ideally hold City & Guilds Electrical Equipment Maintenance and Testing qualification 2377
  • Preferably, PV Solar and Ventilation Knowledge
