Apprentice Carpenter in Coatbridge

**Location:** Coatbridge, North Lanarkshire

**Contract Type:** Fixed Term Apprenticeship

**Salary:** Offering the nationally agreed apprentice pay rates, plus excellent company benefits. (You will be paid for your normal working hours plus your attendance at college)

**Entry Criteria for roles** – No formal qualifications required / Pre-apprenticeship / Potential to work towards SVQ level 6 & 7. Candidates will undertake a pre-employment assessment and interview.

**What does a life as a Carpenter & Joiner look like?** Site based Carpenters will usually work on a building site, or in domestic and commercial premises, preparing and fixing building components from the initial erection of a new building, through to the installation of all necessary fixtures and fittings, as well as a range of repair and maintenance activities in both new and old buildings.

**The apprenticeship course will cover the following:**

• Develop and maintain good working relations
• Read Construction drawings
• Measure and transfer sizes
• Install first fix components
• Install second fix components
• Use a range of hand tools
• Set up and use a range of power tools
• Erect roof structures
• Carry out Repairs and maintenance tasks

**What do you need to be a successful applicant:**

• Potential to work at SCQF level 6/7
• The ability and desire to learn and develop a thorough knowledge of the skills, technology and safety procedures required to carry out the full range of tasks
• You must live in a commutable distance to independently travel to and from the branch
• Strong communication skills
• Be able to establish and maintain good customer/client relationships
• Candidates will undertake a pre-employment assessment
