We are looking for a Bid Manager to join our Planned/Capital Works team, supporting our continued growth and success across our business. This role will focus on securing contracts for a wide range of large-scale programmes that improve homes and communities. We are looking for a Bid Manager who has experience across working with bids that include kitchen and bathroom installations, window and door replacements, internal and external improvement schemes, retrofit projects and solar technologies, as well as full estate refurbishments across both low- and high-rise properties. In many cases, our bids encompass all of these elements, reflecting the scale and complexity of the work we deliver.
The Role
As a Bid Manager, you’ll report to the Head of Bid Management. You’ll take the lead on high-quality bid submissions, ensuring we deliver compelling, customer-focused proposals that win business. Collaborating across operational and technical teams, you’ll ensure our bids showcase our expertise in delivering large-scale refurbishment, capital investment, and improvement programmes—helping us secure contracts that make a lasting impact on communities and the built environment.
Key Responsibilities & Criteria:
- Lead and take full ownership of creating compelling, high-quality tender submissions.
- Proactively manage and guide each tender process from initiation to completion.
- Structure documents to meet all tender requirements and facilitate easy scoring by evaluators.
- Research, orchestrate, and write clear, concise proposals that communicate operational, technical, and commercial solutions.
- Design, collate, produce, and review final submission documents, ensuring all sections are complete and well-written.
- Collaborate with the wider bid team to produce customer-focused, high-quality documentation.
- Liaise effectively with internal teams—especially operators—to develop practical, deliverable solutions.
- Maintain and update knowledge management systems, including Document Management and CRM platforms.
- Manage multiple deadlines while consistently delivering written work of the highest quality.
- Write strong method statements that demonstrate understanding and compliance with client requirements.
- Use MS Office software confidently to support document creation and submission.
- Stay calm under pressure and respond constructively to feedback and evaluation.
- Adapt flexibly to changing workloads and tasks to ensure tender deadlines are met.
- Communicate clearly and professionally with colleagues and clients.
- Work independently and take initiative to drive tasks forward.
