Annual salary: up to £25,396.80

Bricklayer Level 2 – Apprenticeship

Location: Leeds

Salary: 16yrs – 17yrs: £7.71 40 hours per week including time at college

Over 18yrs: £10.71 – 42.5 hours per week including time at college

Over 21yrs: £12.21 – 42.5 hours per week including time at college

Tools, Chromebook and uniform will be provided

Plus an industry recognised qualification and excellent benefits

This apprenticeship will lead to a Bricklaying Level 2 programme will take 27 months to complete.

What does a role as a Bricklayer look like: –

Bricklaying is a core function within the construction sector especially in house building and refurbishments. As a Bricklayer you will have to learn to lay bricks, blocks, and other types of building components in mortar to construct and repair walls, foundations, partitions, arches, and other structures e.g., chimney stacks. You might also refurbish brickwork and masonry as well as seal foundations with damp resistant materials.

What do you need to be a successful applicant: –

  • GCSEs in English and maths grade 4 or above
  • The ability and desire to learn and develop a thorough knowledge of the skills, technology and safety procedures required to carry out the full range of tasks
  • You will live in Leeds area in order to independently travel to and from the branch
  • You will make your own way to and from branch for 08.00am every morning
  • Strong communication skills
  • Be able to establish and maintain good customer/client relationships
  • Please note due to the nature of the role successful applicants are required to complete a basic Math & English test with potential of a practical test at interview stage

  • To be considered for a Mears apprenticeship all applicants must submit their CV and a Cover Letter detailing why you are interested in Mears Group and why you would like to be an apprentice.
  • The closing date for applications is 31/08/2025, following this date we will contact you to confirm if you have been selected for the next round, which would either be an invitation to an assessment centre or individual interviews
  • Please note that you will be required to complete a basic Math & English test during the selection process, which are similar to the assessments you would need to take in order to join the college
  • All our roles require candidates to have the right to work within the UK, Mears does not currently offer visa sponsorship. Candidates should be aware that all our roles are subject to relevant DBS/Security checks
