We’re looking for an experienced and hardworking Bricklayer to join our growing team, supporting a busy responsive repairs contract. This is a practical, hands‑on role focused on delivering a wide range of bricklaying duties within occupied social housing properties. With a consistent pipeline of work and a strong commitment to raising housing standards, this is a great opportunity to be part of a team making a real impact in the community. We’re seeking someone who takes pride in their craft, works efficiently, and consistently delivers high‑quality results from the outset.
Duties:
- Building new brick walls
- Restoring damaged or deteriorated brickwork
- Identifying and repairing cracks or fractures in walls to prevent further damage and maintain safety
- Rendering full walls
- Mixing and applying mortar or adhesives to bind bricks and blocks
- Cutting bricks or blocks to size using hand or power tools
- Constructing foundations, retaining walls, and other structural elements
- Repointing brickwork to improve appearance and structural integrity
- Reading and interpreting construction plans and specifications
- Setting out and levelling courses to ensure accurate alignment
- Installing damp-proofing or insulation materials where required
- Working with other trades to coordinate site activities
- Maintaining tools and equipment and ensuring safe working practices
- Cleaning work areas and disposing of waste materials responsibly
- Adhering to health and safety regulations on‑site
- Applying decorative finishes or brick patterns as needed
Role Criteria:
- Experienced in bricklaying
- Customer service focused approach
- Full UK driving licence
Desirable:
- Multi skilled experience in a wet trade (e.g. plastering & tiling)
