Salary up to £37,000 per annum, plus company van & fuel card

42.5 hours per week (8-5 Monday- Friday)

About The Role

We are looking for an experienced and reliable Plumber to join our Birmingham Voids team, helping to bring empty social housing properties back up to a high standard before new tenants move in.

Duties

  • Carry out plumbing repairs, renewals and installations within void properties
  • Replace toilets, basins, sinks, taps, baths and other sanitary ware as required
  • Repair and renew pipework, valves, wastes and water supply systems
  • Identify and rectify leaks, blockages and plumbing defects
  • Carry out repairs to hot and cold water systems
  • Assist with property refurbishment works to ensure homes meet lettable standards
  • Remove and refit bath panels to access and repair pipework where required
  • Complete work in line with company standards, regulations and health and safety requirements
  • Record completed works and materials used via handheld devices or job sheets
  • Work closely with supervisors and other trades to meet void turnaround targets
  • Maintain tools, equipment and company vehicle in good working order
  • Identify and report any additional repairs or property defects
  • Adhere to all health and safety policies and procedures
  • Deliver high-quality workmanship and excellent customer service when interacting with colleagues, contractors or incoming tenants

Role Criteria

  • Proven experience in domestic repairs and maintenance in a plumbing position
  • Full UK driving licence
  • Ability to work independently and manage workload effectively
  • Strong fault-finding and problem-solving skills
  • Excellent customer service skills, with experience working in occupied homes
  • Good understanding of health and safety regulations and safe working practices
  • Ability to use handheld devices or job management systems to record work
  • Willingness to participate in out-of-hours emergency rota
