Lead Scaffolder Milton Keynes Full Time, 42.5 hours, Permanent Salary: up to £48,321 per annum.

About the Role

Due to a new contract win we are looking at hiring a Lead Scaffolder to join our local scaffolding team undertaking high standard repairs and refurbishment activities to housing properties delivering best in class customer service and satisfying all safety, quality and cost control standards. As a Lead Scaffolder you will be working in and around the Milton Keynes area within our social housing contract, providing a stable and profitable contract, delivering excellent service and support through our local teams, who understand the importance of working together for the local community.

Main Duties:

  • Erecting and striking scaffolding.
  • Creating different kinds of platforms, from simple scaffolding through to complex structures such as suspended scaffolding, chimney stacks, scaffold access towers, independent scaffolds.
  • Supporting the scaffold labourer and part two scaffolder.
  • Working on-site in all weather.
  • Unloading scaffolding equipment on-site.
  • Ensuring a stable base for scaffolding.
  • Fixing scaffolding to buildings or structures.
  • Laying planks for workers to walk on fixing guard rails and safety netting.
  • Ability to dismantle scaffolding when a project is complete.
  • Take ownership in undertaking construction, fault finding and maintenance repairs aiming for a first-time completion whilst remaining within budget and time parameters.
  • Ensure that the customer experience is central to all activities by adopting a professional manner when communicating with service users, clients, and both internal/external stakeholders. This includes appearance, company ID, condition of vehicles and maintaining a high standard of Health & Safety requirements.
  • Process all activities in association with tasks/works electronically utilising a handheld device (PDA). This includes worksheets, timesheets, photographic evidence of works before-during-after, van stock replenishment, booking of annual leave, vehicle inspections, safeguarding issues, risk assessments and method statements.

Role Criteria:

  • Gold card in scaffolding.
  • Previous experience as a charge hand scaffolder.
  • UK full driving licence.
  • Ability to drive 7.5-ton lorry.
  • Manual handling.
  • Customer service skills.
