About the Role
The Accommodation Coordinator will be responsible for processing referrals for ex‑offenders leaving prison, ensuring timely and accurate handling of accommodation requests. The role involves reviewing referrals, drafting and issuing correspondence, and maintaining regular communication via email with internal teams and external partners. You will work confidently across Microsoft platforms to update records, manage bed‑space reports, and handle sensitive data in line with information‑sharing and confidentiality requirements. Although allocation decisions are made elsewhere, you will be responsible for updating internal systems, including VECO, to reflect placements and changes. The post also requires completing risk assessments; comprehensive training will be provided, but candidates must be comfortable assessing and managing risk within a criminal justice setting.
Key Criteria
- Provide excellent customer service, ensuring a positive experience for service users
- Demonstrate previous experience working in an office administration environment
- Confidently make and answer phone calls as part of daily coordination
- Carry out administrative duties with accuracy and attention to detail
- Be IT literate, with strong proficiency in Microsoft platforms (e.g. Outlook, Excel, Teams)
- Communicate effectively with colleagues, stakeholders, and service users, showing strong interpersonal skills
- Confidence and ability to work in a fast‑paced environment
- Experience working within the criminal justice sector
