Location: North Lanarkshire

Contract: Permanent, Full Time, 40 hours per week

Salary: £45,000 - £50,000 per annum, plus car allowance

As a Health & Safety Advisor, you will support branch management and operational teams to ensure the effective implementation of health, safety and environmental policies and procedures:

  • Attend incident locations when required, including outside normal working hours, to support incident response and provide health and safety advice to operational teams.
  • Ensure employees and subcontractors carry out work safely and in compliance with legislation, company policies and contract requirements.
  • Carry out and record site inspections, identifying areas for improvement and supporting corrective actions.
  • Support branch management with all health and safety matters.
  • Attend monthly health and safety meetings with branch management teams.
  • Promote and develop a strong safety culture throughout the business.
  • Monitor and support health and safety training requirements across the branch.
  • Ensure adequate first aid provision is maintained.
  • Review and support the completion of risk assessments and safe systems of work.
  • Investigate accidents and incidents, producing detailed reports and recommendations.
  • Provide ongoing guidance and support to operational teams on health and safety best practice.

Key Criteria:

  • Full UK Manual Driving Licence
  • NEBOSH General Certificate
  • Comprehensive knowledge of health, safety and environmental legislation
  • Understanding of health and safety issues within the building and construction industry
  • Knowledge of safe working practices and safe systems of work
  • Strong IT skills including Microsoft Word, Excel and PowerPoint
  • Excellent communication and organisational skills
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team

  • Working towards Grad IOSH
