Contract Type: Fixed Term Apprenticeship

Salary: Nationally agreed apprentice pay rates, plus excellent company benefits. You will be paid for your normal working hours plus your attendance at college.

Entry Criteria for roles: No formal qualifications required / Pre-apprenticeship / Potential to work towards SVQ level 6 & 7. Candidates will undertake a pre-employment assessment and interview. To be successful with your application you must live in a North Lanarkshire postcode.

What Does a Life As Plasterer Look Like

Plastering is a core function within the construction sector especially in house building and refurbishments. You will learn about different products and how to manage a job which varies with materials. You will be responsible for mixing and applying plaster to inside walls and ceilings, working with dry lining, and applying protective coverings onto external walls. Roles in plastering are physical and may involve lifting and moving equipment, working at height, and working inside and outside.

The Apprenticeship Course Will Cover:

  • Develop and maintain good working relations
  • Conform to Workplace health safety and welfare
  • Apply solid plaster to various backgrounds
  • Apply solid plaster to complex surfaces
  • Produce complex external rendering finishes
  • Install mechanically fixed plasterboard

What You Need to Be a Successful Applicant:

  • Have the potential to work at SCQF level 6/7
  • The ability and desire to learn and develop knowledge of the skills, technology and safety procedures required to carry out the full range of tasks
  • Strong communication skills
  • Ability to establish and maintain good customer/client relationships
  • You must live within a North Lanarkshire postcode and be able to independently travel to and from the branch

The Plastering apprenticeship programme will take 4 years to complete. We are looking for people with integrity, who are self-reliant and highly motivated, with a natural willingness to get involved, someone who can solve problems and who takes pride in their work.
