Electrician Apprenticeship
Course Title: Electrical Installation β SCQF Level 7
Location: Coatbridge, North Lanarkshire
Contract Type: Fixed Term Apprenticeship

What does a role as an Electrician look like? As an Electrician you will be involved in installing, maintaining, and repairing electrical systems including lighting, sockets, machines, and alarms. You will help customers understand how their appliances work and how to manage energy usage efficiently.
The apprenticeship course will cover the following:
- Apply Health and Safety and Environmental Legislation in the Building Services Engineering Sector
- Establish and Maintain Good Working Relationships
- Install Enclosures for Electrical Cables, Conductors and Wiring Systems
- Install and Connect Electrical Cables, Conductors, Wiring Systems and Equipment
- Inspect and Test Electrical Systems and Equipment
- Commission Electrical Systems and Equipment
- Identify and Rectify Faults in Electrical Systems and Equipment
- Maintain Electrical Systems and Equipment
- FICA Final Integrated Competence Assessment
At the end of your apprenticeship, you will achieve an Electrotechnical qualification and will have satisfied the requirements for registration as Eng Tech by the Engineering Council.

- The ability and desire to learn and develop a thorough knowledge of the skills, technology and safety procedures required to carry out the full range of tasks

The Mears Careers National Apprenticeship Scheme is designed to empower and challenge you; you will be trusted with real work and responsibility from the outset. During your apprenticeship you will have a fantastic opportunity to earn while you learn and will receive formal training coupled with working alongside our skilled workforce who will inspire and train you in the practical elements of the trade. The Electrical Installation apprenticeship programme takes between 38 and 42 months to complete.
