They are on the search for a Cost Draftsman.
Your Responsibilities:
• Preparing detailed bills of costs that outline all relevant expenses and fees.
• Navigating the detailed assessment process, which involves a formal review of the costs claim by an independent assessor.
• Negotiating with opposing parties to reach settlements or advocating for the firm\’s position in disputes.
• Preparing and advising on costs budgets, which outline estimated costs for a case.
• Evaluating costs for both clients and solicitors, ensuring accurate and fair recovery of fees.
• Maintaining accurate records and documentation related to costs claims.
Experience Required:
• A Costs Lawyer Professional Qualification or equivalent qualification
• At least 2 years’ experience is essential
• Experience in handling Housing Disrepair Costs
• Excellent knowledge of costs law and the Civil Procedure Rules
• Experience of drafting bills of costs, Replies, Points of Dispute and Costs Budgets (desirable)
• Ability to deal with third party solicitors and insurers
• Excellent organisation and time-management skills

Remuneration and Work-base preference:
