Our Meallmore team at Alderwood is ready to warmly welcome you as a Senior Support Worker within their care home. Alderwood House is a purpose-built mental health care home in Dumbarton, offering personalised nursing care to adults enduring or recovering from a mental disorder. The facility focuses on restoring confidence and enabling residents to live as independently as possible.

Our mentorship programme and ongoing learning and development will support you in developing your skills and progressing in your career, whether as a Senior Care Assistant or a Senior Care Practitioner — the choice is yours! If you’re not already working as a care assistant, you will be required to register with the SSSC (Scottish Social Services Council). Meallmore will support you through this process.

Your role as a Meallmore Care Assistant will include:

  • Promoting and providing high-quality care and support in accordance with individual care/support plans.
  • Creating wellbeing within a caring environment and participating in the general activities of the home.
  • Adhering to Meallmore Standards, Policies, Procedures, and National Care Standards.
  • Working in line with the SSSC codes of Practice.
  • Collaborating with care staff in your department and wider teams.
  • Carrying out personal care duties.

Desirable skills:

  • Working towards the qualification to meet SSSC registration requirements.
  • SVQ level 2 or above/equivalent in Health and Social Care (as per SSSC guidelines).
  • Communication and rapport-building skills.
  • Kind, caring nature.
