Job Description
Our friendly team at Meallmore are looking for a Second Chef to be part of the team in Mearns House Care Home. Conveniently located in Newton Mearns, Mearns House is an industry-leading care home, built and designed in 2016 to exceed national care standards and provide the highest levels of comfort, happiness and security for residents. We provide luxury living for older people in a homely environment. We cater for a wide range of care needs including high quality, personalised nursing and dementia care and have installed some of the latest technology to create an environment that is as safe and comfortable as possible.

Your role as a Meallmore Second Chef will include:
- Assist the Head Chef to plan, prepare, and cook meals according to dietary requirements and preferences of our residents.
- Ensure compliance with food safety and hygiene regulations.
- Ensure Food is prepared and served in a timely manner.
- Collaborate with other departments to ensure seamless food service and resident satisfaction.
- Stay updated with industry trends and introduce innovative ideas to enhance the dining experience.
- Adhere to food budget guidelines and assist in minimising waste.
Skills and Requirements:
- Preparing home cooked nutritious meals for our residents
- Strong culinary skills and creativity to prepare appetizing meals.
- Proficiency in food safety practices
- Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines
- Good communication and interpersonal skills
- Relevant culinary qualifications are desirable
- Knowledge of nutrition, dietary requirements and food allergies is desirable
