The predicted salary is between 30000 - 30000 € per year.

Salary: £14.60 per hour

Hours: 36 hours per week (08:15 - 17:45 hrs, working 4 days per week)

Forthland Lodge is centrally located in Edinburgh’s Restalrig area, with easy access to bus routes on Duke Street, Restalrig Circus and Restalrig Road. Ocean Terminal and Leith Walk tram stops are also nearby.

Role & Responsibilities

  • Support the Head Chef to organise, plan and prepare meals ensuring that all home‑cooked food not only looks and tastes delicious but also reflects the preferences and dietary requirements of each resident.
  • Work alongside the Head Chef in providing guidance and training to care teams on understanding and implementing safe and appropriate textured food options for residents, ensuring compliance with dietary standards.
  • Comply with industry and Meallmore quality, hygiene and cleanliness standards.
  • Be involved in menu development, tailoring around residents’ needs, likes and dislikes to ensure we deliver person‑centred hospitality.

Skills & Requirements

  • Strong cookery skills and creativity in preparing home‑cooked nutritious meals for residents.
  • A personal and warm approach with a genuine interest in the well‑being of residents.
  • Ability to work to deadlines meeting the needs of residents.
  • Great communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Knowledge of food safety practices.
  • Knowledge of nutrition, dietary needs and food allergies is desirable but not essential.
  • A culinary qualification is desirable but not essential.
