This is an exciting opportunity to join a brand-new team, in a luxurious state of the art, purpose-built home. Kelvinside Manor, opening December 2024, located in the prestigious West End of Glasgow, is a luxurious care home offering top-tier nursing, dementia, and respite care. As a new addition to the esteemed Meallmore group, we pride ourselves on delivering exceptional, personalised care in an elegant and modern environment. Your role as a Meallmore Head Chef will include:
- Plan, prepare, and cook meals according to dietary requirements and preferences of our residents.
- Manage kitchen staff, including training, scheduling, and overseeing their performance.
- Ensure compliance with food safety and hygiene regulations.
- Order and maintain inventory of kitchen supplies and equipment.
- Monitor and control food costs while maintaining high-quality standards.
- Collaborate with other departments to ensure seamless food service and resident satisfaction.
- Stay updated with industry trends and introduce innovative ideas to enhance the dining experience.
Skills and Requirements:
- Proven experience as a Head Chef or in a similar role, preferably in a care home or healthcare setting.
- Knowledge of nutrition, dietary requirements and food allergies is desirable.
- Strong culinary skills and creativity to prepare appetising meals.
- Excellent leadership and team management abilities.
- Proficiency in food safety practices.
- Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines.
- Good communication and interpersonal skills.
- Relevant culinary qualifications are desirable.
- Ability to add flare and influence the menu.
