Salary: £16.79 per hour

Your Role and Responsibilities

  • Organise, plan and prepare meals ensuring that all home cooked food not only looks and tastes delicious but also reflects the preferences and dietary requirements of each resident.
  • Provide guidance and training to care teams on understanding and implementing safe and appropriate textured food options for residents, ensuring compliance with dietary standards (e.g., IDDSI).
  • Lead, motivate and inspire your kitchen team to develop and upskill.
  • Comply with industry and Meallmore quality, hygiene and cleanliness standards.
  • Work within budget, complete regular audits and stock control.
  • Menu development, tailoring around resident's needs, likes and dislikes to ensure we deliver person-centred hospitality.

Skills & Requirements

  • Experience as Head Chef or similar, ideally in care homes or healthcare preferred.
  • A personal and warm approach with a genuine interest of the well being of our residents.
  • Knowledge of nutrition, dietary needs and food allergies.
  • Excellent leadership and team management.
  • Good understanding of HACCP & COSHH.
  • Food Safety Level 3 desirable.
